A true story
of finding God’s favor, love and forgiveness

About the Book

Glimpses of Grace in Georgia is an incredible true story of how Amanda and her family were taken from suburban America and brought into the heart of a former soviet, third-world country during a time of economic turmoil and political instability. In this exciting memoir, Amanda outlines the struggles of living in a foreign country and how God miraculously provided for her family during this dark time.

"Sometimes God doesn’t change your situation because he’s trying to change your heart."

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Source of My Inspiration: My Journals

In 2014, I rummaged through several storage boxes looking for a hidden treasure that I had packed away almost ten years prior. Somewhere deep inside, I found what I was looking for... My old journals.

I was looking for one in particular, but found four! I read them all cover to cover... I laughed, I cried, I felt things I hadn’t felt in almost fifteen years. Then I came across a journal entry towards the end of our three years in Georgia:

I don’t know why God allowed me to go through these things, maybe I’m supposed to write a book about it someday, to help out young girls just like me.

This book is the fulfillment of that God-given dream. My deepest desire for you, my reader, is to be blessed and to experience God's grace through the retelling of this story.

"I loved the book... I laughed, I cried and I was surprised at times... Others around me thought I was going mad!"

— Bradley

"Amanda stirs our hearts with her adventures, bringing tears as well as peals of laughter through each and every page. It's a deeply moving journey of the heart that only God could have orchestrated and pulled off! Enjoyed reliving every memory immensely!"

Stacy

"I couldn’t put this book down! Truly an inspiring story of God’s grace and love amidst a seemingly terrible situation. You won’t be disappointed!"

Jill

"Calling all prodigals... By pouring her soul onto the pages of her journey, Amanda tenderly bares her private convictions. She lovingly reminds us - through obedience or rebellion, Our Father's Grace is enough; His Love is always present, and our God still performs miracles "
